Its been quite a long break even though I don't have school age children (playgroup only meets in school terms) and I'm hanging for playgroup to go back.
Not being at playgroup has made me realise just how much I miss my new friends and need that mum to mum talk and a break from the house.
Playgroup isn't just about the kids sometimes ;) Although my littlies really enjoy it I also enjoy the company and discussion that you just can't talk about with childless friends.
How do I take bottles out and about? What time does your baby go to bed? Oh you forget to do that thing too! I'm not such a bad mum after all! Oh you are ready to throttle your 3 year old too? thankgod its not just me!
I'm also looking for work close to home and I really don't want a job on a thursday so much that I would consider not applying for a job if it was on my playgroup day!! thats how much I love the girls there and everything playgroup entails.
I'm sure my kids are looking forward to it too, we've been so busy but some days I am looking for anything to get us out of the house and out of each others hair. My 3 year old enjoys the activities and seeing her friends. I also find it forces me to sit and play with my kids instead of tending to that never ending pile of housework!
So if you are thinking of visiting a playgroup please do! The new term resumes with the new school days (1st of Feb I believe). If you come on the first day back please remember that it might be a bit hectic but its not always like that :)
